Transducer specific scupper with skidplate.Large center hatch that holds a ton of gear.Lots of features at an affordable price.Center console gets in the way of standing. Some places on the hull are too “flexy”.The rudder comes up (the clamshell doesn’t hold the deployment cable tight enough) easily fixable.Again most of the cons are simply preferences. Honestly, it’s because the only ones I have are nit-picky preferences, however, I will leave you with a list of pros and cons. So I haven’t got to any of the “negatives” about the sea ghost. Here’s a link to my overview video on YouTube. Lime green bungee (replaced stock bungee).I’ve upgraded a few things, added accessories, swapped paddles, and various other customizations. I’ve had my sea ghost for 7 months now and paddled at least a couple hundred miles in it. My first fish from the Ghost (20″ redfish) It was a pretty good way to christen my new ghost! We wound up catching around 50 or so fish that day, most were specks. On the way back to the trucks we got on a school of speckled trout. After a quick picture I released him to fight another day. My first fish from my new sea ghost was a 20ish” redfish. We finally got on a few fish over an oyster bed. I couldn’t “walk around” like some kayaks claim, but standing around the cockpit area was very easy. After drifting along the jetty for a while a decided to go around the jetty, to the smooth water on the other side and try standing. We finally made the cross over the channel and got near the jettys we were planning on fishing. It was great! Easy to deploy, the controls worked smoothly and it kept me going straight, even in a fairly strong crosswind. After paddling for 10 minutes or so I deployed the rudder. It tracked very well compared to what I was used to. The first thing I noticed about the ghost was how well it paddled. We launched close to the beach and headed out into the bay with fairly calm water. My first trip in the sea ghost was with my good buddy Matt.

I drove the 8 hours to go pick it up, and wow, was I impressed with the kayak. Nope! “We didn’t expect so many sales, we can’t keep up with the demand!”įinally, around the end of May, I wound up getting lucky, and ordered one from Vibe headquarters. I called the Vibe headquarters in Kennesaw GA, to see if maybe they had one I could buy. (They were going on sale early spring of 2016) Both dealers had the same response, “I’m getting 8 kayaks at a time and I’ve started a waiting list for the next several shipments.” Wow! Apparently this was the story all over the country, as many people were getting impatient, waiting on their kayak. I called the two dealers that were within a few hours of me to see when they would have the sea ghost. Without further ado, here’s is my honest feedback.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the kayak. After further research my “slightly interested” became, “desperately needed”, and so, as soon as I could, I bought one. For me, that’s all it took, I was “slightly” interested when I saw a picture of the 2016 ghost in someone’s Facebook post. If you’re reading this, it shows you’re at least slightly interested in the sea ghost.
